Our client, a leader in the automotive manufacturing industry, is currently searching for a Quality Process Engineering Supervisor to join their team. Reporting to the Quality Manager, the Quality Process Engineering Supervisor will define Optimal Process operating parameters and provide support, direction, and future definition for the Process Specialist function. The successful candidate will develop, coordinate, and deliver a training program for operations and maintenance personnel for key product and process characteristics. The Supervisor will also develop and maintain TS16949 and ISO14001 systems and liaison with external register for the coordination of third party audit activities and with customers for non-conformance and product issues.
As the Quality Process Engineering Supervisor, you will:
• Facilitate/lead the investigation into all reported shop floor deficiencies (downtime issues, Product nonconformances, scrap issues)
• Identify methods of control for all Key Process Input Variables.
• Design, implement, and monitors Statistical Process Control where necessary
• Lead/participate in problem solving activities to resolve internal and external quality issues.
• Key liaison with product engineering group
• Lead Corrective Action efforts for Top 5 Scrap and Rework opportunities
• Conduct investigations on non-conformances and recommends corrective action to prevent reoccurrence where required
• Develop shop floor training program for communicating Key Product Output variables, key customer satisfaction variables, and methods of control for Key Input Variables.
• Initiate, track, and implement ECRs aimed at optimization of Plant Operations
• Apply Six Sigma techniques in the resolution of process, quality, and system deficiencies.
• Make recommendations for Plant Wide Quality/Process System Improvements including alternative materials, equipment, gauging, systems, error proofing, and methods.
• Conduct system, process, and product audits as required.
The ideal candidate will have:
• A university degree in Mechanical Engineering with a strong background in Metallurgy and Heat Treatment is preferred
• A minimum of 5 years experience in an automotive manufacturing environment coupled with a strong understanding of ISO14001
• TS16949 Lead auditor designation
• A Six Sigma Black belt is preferred.
• Excellent communication skills (written & verbal)
• Solid understanding of GD&T
• Strong computer skills: MS Office, Excel, and Access
• Visual basic programming an asset
• Ability to read prints
